Hawaii Lifestyle Engagement Session | Ning & Yuchen

I love photographing engagement session.  This is the best time to get to know my Bride & Groom and the best time to get to know me before their BIG day.
If you’ve been thinking of doing an engagement session before your wedding, I would say do it. This is like breaking the ice between you and your photographer. This is also the best time to find out if you and your photographer are best fit before your wedding. After all, you will spend a lot of time with your photographer on your wedding day.

You just got engaged???

Congratulations, if you just got engaged over the holidays. I am sure you are very excited to start planning your big day.
Don’t know where to start? Here’s a few tips that might help you plan your wedding.
First, write down (with your fiance) your priorities. For example, how much is your budget? Which wedding venues are you thinking of using? Do you need a wedding planner, photographer, videographer, florist…etc. Second, if you are planning on hiring a wedding planner, I highly recommend to call them right away. Popular wedding planners are usually book a year in advance. AND, once you booked one, he or she can start helping you plan your wedding. Wedding planners can make phone calls for you, give you a list of venues & vendors, AND they can guide you on what’s working and what’s not. Third, either you hire a wedding planner or not, the next thing you should do is reserve a venue, church or a park. Here’s a list of some of the wedding venues here in Oahu. Remember, a lot of the parks & public beaches here in Hawaii requires a permit. So don’t forget to ask for permission. Fourth, get a marriage license. Finally, ask yourself, which one is more important to you? Is it photography, videography, florist, the decorator of your reception…etc.? I hope its photography because when the cake & flowers are gone, the only memory left is your photos…or video.
I hope this wedding planning tips helps you. If you have any questions or advise, please feel free to send me an email. Aloha!!!waikiki beach wedding photo

Trip to the Philippines

One thing I love the most, besides photography, is traveling. I love to go to exotic places, try the local foods and enjoy the scenery.
Recently, me & my family went to the Philippines and visited different towns. One of my favorite place that I visited was Palawan. We went to the underground river, we did zip lining and we did some island hopping. We also ate fresh big tuna fish and some delicious sashimi. Best of all, I get to capture some beautiful scenery.
Here are some of the photos I took while I was there.
